Operator Update

Greetings,

I would like to start this water usage update by saying THANK YOU! to all of the residents that have made the effort to reduce water consumption. It is greatly appreciated! Unfortunately there are many that haven’t and our water shortage is getting worse. It will take ALL of us in this community to save our water supply. I plead with all residents to only irrigate during their watering times. Please conserve water and reduce the strain on our water system.

Well production continues to drop to new lows. The wells are only getting 5 hours recovery time over a 24 hour period. The longer a well runs the less water it will produce. That is made worse when they don’t get ample recovery/recharge time.

This is of great concern as we may lose a well. If that happens we would probably have to stop all irrigation. With the hot dry forecast for the foreseeable future I am recommending that the board of directors make adjustments to the watering restrictions.  This is in hopes of reducing water demand and allowing for more well recovery time. It is very unfortunate that we haven’t had rain to lessen the need for irrigation.  Please do all you can to help save our water supply.

We will make a decision on new watering restrictions and communicate those to our residents.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
